Loch Village

Take a stroll along Victoria Road Loch, enjoy browsing in the antique and craft shops.  Visit the new Loch Brewery on Victoria Road in Loch and Gippsland Wine Company on the South Gippsland Highway, just before the first Loch exit.


  • Southern Gippsland Wine Trail

Starting at the intersection of the South Gippsland & Bass Highways, the trail takes you to wineries from Loch to Foster

South Gippsland Railway

Trains from Loch station travel through the hills to Leongatha every Sunday, some public holidays and every Wednesday during Victorian school holidays.

The beauty of the area has attracted artists and craftsmen and offers a wide range of studios to visit.  Close to Bellview Hill you can visit the following properties.

  • Gooseneck Pottery, Kardella, one of Australia’s largest wood-fired kilns.
  • Mayfield gallery, Arawata, landscape and native bird paintings.
  • Emily Koenders gallery, specializes in wildlife paintings.
  • Grandridge Glass Studio 1655 Korumburra-Warragul Road, Strzelecki
  • Valley Plains Pottery, Leongatha South, wood-fired pottery kiln using locally dug clay, with spectacular views from the gallery.


There are farmers’ markets throughout South Gippsland where you can purchase free range eggs, organic fruit and vegetables, local honey, plants and more.

  • Coal Creek Famers' Market, Korumburra, second Saturday of the month.  Our nearest market, Korumburra is accredited by the Victorian Famers' Market Association.  The market supports local producers, honey from Loch, fish from Port Franklin, potatoes from Warragul, barramundi from Garfield, cheese from Bena, plants, eggs, wine, fruit & vegetables, and much more.
  • Koonwarra Famers' Market, first Saturday of the month
  • Kongwak market, every Sunday from 10am
  • Loch Market, second Sunday of the month.

  • The Grand Ridge Rail Trail from Mirboo North to Boolarra
  • The Great Southern Rail Trail is accessible at many points between Leongatha and Foster.  It is suitable for walkers and cyclists
  • Lyrebird Forest Walk is a bushwalk through native South Gippsland forest, suitable for all walkers and wheelcharis for 0.75 km
  • Limeburners Walk joins Walkerville North and South via the remains of the Walkerville Lime Kilns
  • The George Bass Coastal Walk hugs the cliffs from Kilcunda to San Remo
  • Cape Patterson walk is an easy 1 ½ km. View the spectacular rock formations and observe the sealife in the rockpools
  • Cape Liptrap Coastal Park offers walks from 20 minutes to 2 hours.


The quiet roads of South Gippsland were host to the Great Victorian Bike Ride in 2007. The Great Southern Rail trail accessible from Leongatha is suitable for cyclists.  Bikes may be hired in Leongatha and Meeniyan.


Korumburra Golf Course, an immaculately maintained 18 hole course is just 5 minutes from Bellview Hill.
